Concept Project | 2010

Everyone deserves to age with dignity and independence. This concept project was imagined to provide long-term residential care in a setting that will allow the developmentally disabled to live as independently as they are able. Inspired by the Eden Alternative model of elder care, and imagined for a site adjacent to the sheltered workshop in Versailles, Missouri, each 7,000 square foot home offers 11 private rooms clustered around large common living, cooking, and dining spaces- just as you would find in a regular home. Multiple homes were planned on the site, and configured to create intimate outdoor courtyards and seating for recreation, conversation, and meaningful interactions.
