Villas of Jackson
This stand-alone memory care community in Jackson, Missouri, was designed to harmonize aesthetically and functionally with the neighboring Villas of Jackson Assisted Living Facility. The brick and stone building features 18 private memory care units and supporting spaces on a single story, totaling approximately 14,500 square feet. During planning, the building was sited and designed to help the two buildings share the AL building’s central kitchen with the shortest possible travel distance. To maximize opportunities for residents to enjoy windows and daylight, most staff spaces were clustered in the interior core of the building.
The complicated, sloping site required large amounts of compacted fill to be added and the manipulation of an existing detention pond. Outdoor patio and garden spaces offer opportunities to enjoy views of the newly configured landscape and existing wooded areas.
