VIP Visitor - Baby Mattie Grace!
Mattie Grace Van Winkle stopped by the office to check out Dad's digs! She wasn't especially impressed, not even bothering to wake up!
Vessel's Oldest Visitor of All Time!
Brian's grandfather, Edward Elliott, stopped by the office for a tour last week. At 103 years old he is the current record-holder for oldest visitor to Vessel's offices! He was accompanied by Brian's parents (Margie and Randy) and his Aunt Carol. Grandpa Elliott remarked at how modern everything looks. Thanks!
Congratulations to Architect Adam Edelbrock!
Adam just submitted his last internship hours for licensure and has completed all requirements to be a Licensed Architect! This is a huge accomplishment and was plenty worthy of his being nominated for the Coffee is for Closers mug (Vessel's weekly rotating prize)! In short order he will be NCARB certified, a member of the American Institute of Architects, and a licensed Architect in Missouri! This makes Adam the fifth Architect at Vessel! Congratulations Adam!

Vessel Annual Picnic
We enjoyed another fantastic annual picnic at Shaw Park this year! It was so much fun to see everyone's kids one year bigger! Pappy's BBQ was awesome but hanging out with friends, catching up on personal stuff, having a catch, and playing with each other's kids was even better.
We miss you Merlin!
(Merlin is just in Chicago) Every Monday morning the whole office meets to identify objectives and organize ourselves to help each other conquer those objectives. It is an important part of every week and helps make Mondays at Vessel a pretty cool day.
But Merlin has been doing a great job handling Construction Administration (CA) for two large projects under construction in Chicago. He has had to be up there quite a bit to close out one of the jobs. Since he wasn't able to be here we're sending him this shout out via the interwebs.
Vessel Summer Blockbuster! | Jurassic World
One of the important traditions we have at Vessel is to take a Friday afternoon off to see a Summer Blockbuster. This year we chose the new Jurassic Park. It was the PERFECT Summer Blockbuster! (Defined as a big budget movie that delivers predictable fun.) Indeed, the movie was definitely predictable but it was so much fun!
Devotional Baptist Work Session
The design/build team for Devotional Baptist is in the office this morning working on the MEP and major building systems. We are fast-tracking this project with an early footings & foundations permit. The balance of the drawings will follow shortly after. With this approach we expect to be in construction in July!
